What is Project K.I.D.S.?
In order to gain a better understanding of child development, Project K.I.D.S. is a research program that continues to monitor the children over time. We follow the children as they grow older to see how their skills and abilities mature. So, kids who are involved in Project K.I.D.S. this year are invited to come back in two years time so as to explore their development over these years.
At Project K.I.D.S. we have developed a range of child friendly techniques for assessing children's cognitive, social and emotional development. Children participate in and enjoy computer-game tasks, paper and pencil puzzles, and group activities. Children receive certificates of participation, Project K.I.D.S merchandise and are given positive feedback about their performance throughout the day.
Since the program began in 1995, over 2000 children have participated in Project K.I.D.S. It is important to us that your children have a fun time while they help us to better understand how kids grow and develop through childhood.
This year is very exciting as there are a few new additions to Project K.I.D.S. We are conducting a follow-up on the very first group of children that participated in Project K.I.D.S. over 12 years ago. It will be interesting to see where these children are now as adults, what they are doing and what they have achieved since their time at Project KI.D.S.
