Welcome to the Communication Lab (ComLab) at the School of Psychology, University of Western Australia (UWA).

    Communication is fundamental to many everyday activities, whether this involves giving a speech, chatting with a neighbour or contributing to a management discussion group.  Although people typically communicate with ease, establishing how we accomplish this task (i.e., the process) is unclear.  By employing experimental, dialogue analytic and ethnographic methods, we aim to provide a fuller understanding of the principles governing human communication, and how communication systems arise and evolve over time.
